From CNS Lymphoma to Pioneering Chemical Exposure Awareness:  My Journey

My Journey with CNS Lymphoma – The Diagnosis

At the end of 2023, I received the life-altering news of my CNS lymphoma diagnosis. This moment not only changed my health trajectory but also my perspective on the world around me. It was a turning point, not just medically but philosophically, forcing me to reevaluate my life’s priorities and the essence of health and well-being.

A New Understanding:

Battling this illness made me acutely aware of the chemicals we are exposed to daily. Despite assurances that many are harmless, I learned from valid studies that even small amounts can have significant effects. The realization that over 3,900 chemicals have been added to our food, beauty products, and environment over the last century without understanding or interest in their combined impact on each person was eye-opening.

This journey has highlighted the disconnect between scientific discovery and regulatory action. The process by which potentially harmful substances like endocrine disruptors are identified, reviewed, and finally regulated (or not) is often opaque, slow, and influenced by numerous factors beyond just health considerations. My experience has led me to question how long it takes for science to translate into safer consumer products, and why some substances, despite known risks, remain in use.

Moreover, this ordeal has made me a proponent for more transparency and accountability in how chemicals are used in everyday products. It’s not just about individual choices but about advocating for systemic change where the safety of additives in our foods, drugs, and over-the-counter products is not just an afterthought but a priority.

The personal impact of this awareness has been profound, leading to lifestyle changes, seeking out alternatives like those offered by apps that rate product safety, and supporting research into safer chemical alternatives. However, this personal action is only part of the solution. It’s crucial to push for a collective effort towards better regulatory frameworks and public education on chemical safety.

My journey with CNS lymphoma has thus not only been about fighting a disease but also about challenging the status quo regarding what we consume and how we live, advocating for a world where the health implications of daily exposures are not just acknowledged but actively managed for the betterment of all.

Taking Control:

My battle with cancer led me to question traditional approaches to treatment. By eliminating what I believe to be the sources of my health problems, I’ve managed to reclaim my health. Though my doctors hesitate to declare the cancer gone, I feel it in my bones – I am cancer-free, a testament to the power of understanding and addressing the root causes of disease.

Mission Ignited:

This personal victory fueled my mission to pioneer chemical exposure awareness. I felt compelled not only to navigate my own health journey but to educate and advocate for others. This site reflects my commitment to uncovering the hidden dangers of these chemicals, promoting awareness, and pushing for transparency and reform.

Living with Insight:

A diagnosis may change aspects of your life, but it doesn’t define who you are. Many people find new passions, set new goals, and develop resilience through their health journey. Receiving a medical diagnosis, whether chronic or temporary, can be life-changing. It often brings a mix of emotions—fear, uncertainty, frustration, or even relief in finally having an explanation for your symptoms. While every journey is unique, understanding how to navigate life with a diagnosis can help in adapting and maintaining a fulfilling life.

Every day since my diagnosis has been a lesson in resilience, awareness, and advocacy. My story is one of transformation, from patient to educator, from survivor to advocate, sharing insights to foster a healthier, more informed community.
